This semester's classes with explanations

Senior Printmaking II
Well, I've only been in Printmaking nearly 3 years haven't I? I feel the need to explain why I do so much photography and digital work and continue to stay in the department. I knew which direction I would go in and I know which directions I am still interested in. I will probably continue doing assemblage with photography and xerox technology when I leave this school. It is a meditative practice which I enjoy. However, I am always interested in bring a more organic approach to the digital arts. I am not interested really in created 3-d forms or the like. I also view websites as a sort of new printmaking. Indeed, it is a revolution much like the first Western printing press. It desseminates information to many people. The reproduction is created each time a person clicks to the site. I want to bring these approaches to a medium which should be more aware of its history. end lecture.

Senior Thesis Seminar
I am learning to write resumes and artist's statements so I can be real professional like. Also, making multiples of advertisements for Senior Show as well as doing presentation and reading reviews of local gallery shows. It is required as well.

Color Photography
Because I need more practice with photography. Even though I am more interested in black and white. I am still learning, but getting progressively better.

Formal Poetry
I took a poetry class last semester that entirely destroyed my nerve to create poetry at all. I never seemed to write anything good. My teacher determined that I was a little too melodramatic and that I should read some Decadent-Romantic poetry, which I am actually quite fond of. Especially Rimbaud. For any matter, this class is much nicer. We look at forms of poetry and try new ways to write within the form. I have done well so far thank God.

Power, God, and Money
I had to fulfill a sociology requirement and this was the only one that fit with my schedule. I have had the teacher before and enjoy his classes. Lots of talk about freedom and slavery within societal expectations, religion, politics,a nd other such subjects.
