Journal--2/17/00

Well, well, well, several changes on the page. First, I am redoing the visual section. I want to give a broader view of my work, so I am picking and choosing the best of the best and will soon be rescanning. I suppose I should have waited a bit. I have a presentation on my work for Monday. I plan on showing the old visual pages. Thank God I still saved them.
Other things. I feel rather good. Not much to say. I just wanted to explain a bit about the visual stuff for those who may care. The images are my most recent pieces. I am teaching myself how to use Flash and not screw up. Changed the opening image with a photograph I did tonight for a class. I liked it better than the computer manipulated piece. The ornament you see has only had a few settings changed, a bit of poking and prodding, but it is a photograph I can assure you. The proper term actually might be "photogram." It was taken from a xerox of my favorite letterpress ornament at school.
For a while I was doing lots of letterpress and woodcut handprinting. I suppose web design and photography interests me more. I would consider myself more of a mixed-media artist anyway. Also, the sort of person interested in disseminating information that matters to me personally.
No rants today really. I wanted to post one quote though.

"I would like to write a Book which would drive men mad, which would be like an open door leading them where they would never have consented to go, in short, a door that opens onto reality."
